A New Direction

I am very proud to have had such high quality people endorse me in my campaign.

They and others are also endorsing Matthew Cranitch for President and Rachel Helliwell for Vice-President.

Matthew Cranitch and I have worked together on Executive and as President and Secretary of the Darwin Regional Council.

We have both tried to stop the decline in Union activity and the falling standard of behaviour of our elected officers.

Matthew and I share a common determination to revitalise this Union, to restore the standing of the AEU NT both with members and organisations that it engages with.

Matthew has nominated for the position of President in the elections that will be held shortly, October 18th to November 18th.

I have witnessed the passion that Matthew brings to Union matters and the energy that he contributes to ensure the best of possible outcomes.

Matthew will fulfill that role admirably. He has an excellent knowledge of Union affairs and an astute understanding of National and Territory trends and issues.
Matthew will ensure that the Executive is empowered by ensuring they are informed fully and providing time for them to make meaningful contributions in the decision making process.

Rachel Helliwell has worked tirelessly on Executive representing not only the members of Alice Springs with passion but also striving to achieve good outcomes for all members.

Rachel will make an excellent Vice-President and will bring to the leadership team a strong female and Primary voice.

Rachel will work diligently to re-engage members in Union affairs. She will contribute to the revitalisation of our website and the Territory Educator so that communication with members provides opportunities to be informed about and connected to current broad trade union campaigns and issues.

I have worked with Rachel while I was on Executive and I admire her persistent and fearless approach to ensure alternative views are considered and respected.

Matthew and Rachel are the team to lead our Union forward.
